COLLEGE OF ALBERTA PSYCHOLOGISTS #3939

CLINICAL DIRECTOR & ADULT THERAPIST

I have wanted to be a helper for as long as I can remember. Empathy and compassion have always felt natural to me, and I have experienced firsthand the difference support can make during difficult times. Alongside this has been a deep curiosity about why people struggle, how we adapt to difficult experiences and what helps us heal. Together, these interests drew me to psychology.

My education and clinical work have also brought ongoing self-reflection and growth in my own life. I draw on evidence-based therapeutic approaches, tailored to each client’s needs, preferences and goals. My personal experiences deepen my appreciation for the courage healing can require, while reminding me that each person’s path is their own.

I believe it is important to practise what I encourage in therapy. I make space for my physical, mental, spiritual and emotional well-being through time in nature, yoga, meditation, connection with friends and being present with my family. I am also imperfect, continually learning, adjusting and growing.

I see personal growth as a lifelong possibility. Even when we feel grounded in who we are, a transition, loss, trauma or other difficult experience can change what we need and how we cope. Sometimes healing means reconnecting with ourselves; other times, it means discovering new ways of being.

I feel humbled and grateful to walk alongside people as they navigate these experiences. I am continually moved by their resilience, including the quiet effort it takes to keep going when life is difficult. I believe a meaningful life is possible, and my role is to help you explore your own path toward healing and your peak potential.

ADULT THERAPIST - NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS

As a Registered Psychologist, I am privileged to support people navigating trauma, including first responders, veterans, medical professionals, accident survivors and their family members. I also support clients with PTSD, complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, panic, anger, body image concerns, eating disorders and self-esteem, alongside neurodivergent individuals navigating their strengths and challenges.

My approach is client-centred and collaborative. I take time to understand your experiences, strengths and goals, building a trusting therapeutic relationship and moving at a pace that respects your comfort and readiness. Therapy reflects your individual needs and what matters most to you.

I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness. Together, we may explore patterns that maintain distress, develop coping strategies, reconnect with your values or reprocess painful experiences. EMDR is often an important part of my trauma work, helping reduce the emotional intensity of distressing memories so clients can feel less overwhelmed by reminders and regain confidence, safety and choice.

My clinical experience has deepened my understanding of how trauma, chronic stress and demanding professions affect individuals and their closest relationships. I also support family members in navigating stress, strengthening communication and addressing secondary trauma.

When appropriate, I collaborate with physicians, case managers, insurance providers and other professionals. My work includes psychological assessments, reports related to fitness for work and treatment needs, and advocacy for appropriate support. This collaboration helps address both the emotional and practical aspects of recovery.

I am honoured to walk alongside you, whether you are seeking relief, rebuilding after trauma or exploring a new direction. My goal is to help you gain understanding, develop effective strategies and move toward a meaningful life and your peak potential.
